Non-Fiction Titles - Sources of Light

Sources of Light is part of the Weigl Educational Publishers Light Science series.

Light comes from two main sources – natural and human made. Natural sources of light include the sun, atmospheric phenomena such as auroras and lightning, volcanic activity and glowing rocks, starlight, moonlight, celestial objects such as meteor showers and comets, natural chemical reactions such as fluorescence, phosphorescence and chemiluminescence, certain types of radiation, as well as fire and the numerous sources of light it can create. Some living organisms also produce their own light, using a process known as bioluminescence. This book examines the world’s many natural sources and forms of light.
